​I remember as a child, seeing my mom experience migraines, which would prevent her from taking part in ANY events. It was very difficult seeing her suffer. Until one day a friend of hers mentioned she should try acupuncture. After two weeks of treatments, my mom seemed to be more involved in small family events. After two months, her migraines were almost gone. I see this moment in my life as a seed that was planted at a young age. Little did I imagine that this experience would ultimately provide the inspiration for my career path…

As the years went by, I graduated from high school, a couple of weeks after graduation I developed this excruciating pain that wouldn't allow me to walk. Medical testing revealed 3 bulged/herniated disks at 18 years old. I wrestled with this pain for a year then a family friend recommended I try acupuncture. After two months of treatment I could walk and lightly exercise. This experience quietly began to water the seed planted years earlier.

Approximately a year later, I end up hospitalized because of difficulty breathing one night. I was hospitalized for two weeks and doctors could not figure out my case. It was something that did not make sense. As the months go on and the breathing pains would sometimes get worse. My pulmonologist told my parents that some of the nodules in my lungs were near my heart and he wasn't sure how much time I had to live. He told my parents that it could be six months, could be less or can be more (minor detail I never knew about this conversation). Even though a time frame was given, I struggled with these nodules in my lungs for almost 2 years and a half.

And then…..to top it off, I woke up one morning with pain that and not walk. Made an appointment to visit my acupuncturist. I mentioned to the Acupuncturist that I had been in the hospital. She began to treat me for my breathing and my pain in my lower back. After a month of receiving treatments, my pulmonologist began to ask me what I was doing and I told him that I was receiving acupuncture. He seemed shocked or shall I say dumb founded and then I asked why? He said that my cat scans of my lungs look better but to continue the treatment I was receiving with him. So I would say approximately 6 months later, I was able to stop getting cat scans because the nodules had pretty much disappeared.And after all that watering my life did, I always felt something was gravitating me in that direction and then I ran into AMC.
